Best practices in web form design

We’ve all had the experience of encountering a form that was so unintuitive or time consuming to fill out that we gave up, figuring we could find the knowledge or product we were looking for elsewhere. We’re excited to welcome acclaimed digital product designer Luke Wroblewski (aka LukeW), who joins the lynda.com author team this month with a course designed to show you how to save your customers and your community from this frustration.

In Web Form Design Best Practices, Luke shows how to create web forms that encourage visitors to enter information and covers ways to capture input without the use of forms. The course also covers boosting conversion rates and customer satisfaction, organizing the structure of forms, aligning and grouping form elements, assigning the correct input field types, validating input, and handling data entry errors.

New iPhone/iPad app version supports AirPlay; lyndaCampus

A new version (1.4.0) of our iPhone/iPad app is now available at the App Store. Some highlights of this new version:

• Added iPhone and iPad app AirPlay support so you can watch lynda.com courses on your Apple TV.
• Customized the iPad video player to support playing the previous and next movies in a course.
• Updated the iPhone app search to auto-complete course names.
• Added lyndaCampus support.

The Triangle Area ColdFusion User's Group (TACFUG), associates, and sponsors are organizing the NCDevCon 2011 Conference (NCDevCon)
to be held September 17-18, 2011 on the Centennial Campus of NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
