iSale 5 Review

Dealing with eBay can be very daunting, as either a seller or a buyer. We're always told that things that appear too good to be true are, and there are so many horror stories of people that have gotten ripped off from buying things online. While I'm not aware of anything that helps the buyer (and PayPal has ripped me off on more than one occasion), iSale is a great program to help sellers get the most out of eBay.

iSale comes with over 200 nice-looking templates to set up your item. You can customize these templates and add pictures, text, and even videos. There is a research assistant to help you determine how best to sell your item, and even facebook integration. Pictures can be added easily from iPhoto, Aperture, or PhotoBooth, and can be hosted on Picasa or Mobile Me to avoid fees. There's even an iPhone app that enables you to create listings on the go. Mobile Me integration allows you to store auctions on your iDisk. Auction dates can be added to your iCal, and there's a dashboard widget to keep track of items as well.

Overall, I have been impressed with how nice this program is, although I have yet to run a real-life auction with it. The eBay fees and requirements are still a little daunting to someone like me who has a few items to sell but who doesn't have them organized to sell quite yet (I'm waiting until I have a few items I can do all at once rather than waste time and money doing them sporadically). However, I've been looking forward to using this as it will definitely make the process a lot easier. If you're planning on clearing out your garage/attic/whathaveyou any time soon, I recommend looking into it. There are a few other Mac applications out for selling on eBay such as Garage SAle, so if I can get a review copy of that I'll pit them head-to-had in a real-world selloff.
